Accountability Post Week of 3/11/19-3/16/19

Since im not on social media for lent, I’m going to use my blog for some accountability! All of my “cross training” workouts are on the Nike Training Club (NTC) app. I love it, it’s free and has workouts for all levels. I use Map my Run (MMR) for my runs. I restarted a 5k plan on Map My Run so I could get better endurance.

Monday 3/11/19 – Did this awesome kick boxing session. It kicked my ass, but was SO much fun. Even Jamie came in and did some punching. I was pretty motivated on this day, after a great weekend out of town eating and drinking just about non stop I was ready to get back on the grind so this sweat session was perfect!

Tuesday 3/12/19 – Walk Day! The Map My Run 5K program has a walking day to get you used to covering long distances. It was planned as a 1.61 mile walk for 25 min 50 sec. I actually did 2.01miles in 30min 18sec and an average pace of 15:02 MM. I didn’t take a picture on this walk.😬
Wednesday 3/13/19 – I try to use Wednesday as a recovery day so I just don’t burn out. I usually do yoga or some other deep stretching session. I did Motion to burn on NTC. It’s a nice 30 min stretch.

Thursday 3/14/19 – Run/Walk Intervals on MMR. It was a planned 1.61 miles with a duration of 23 min 50 sec. Jogging 2x @3 min. I did 1.77 miles, duration of 25:04, and a 14:07 mm. 🏃🏼‍♀️

Friday 3/15/19 – I decided I wanted t start one of NTC’s “collections”. Basically its a group of their workouts to help you eith a final goal. I chose 6 week guide to get lean. Its 24 Intermediate workouts, only requiring basic equipment. My first one was controlled blast. It was a long 45 min, but I felt the burn! 💪🏻

Saturday 3/16/19 – This was a rough run/walk interval session. We went to a fish fry Friday night at family’s house and I had a little headache that I just couldn’t kick but I got the damn thing done! We cleaned out our flowerbeds and got some new flowers on this day too! Spring is coming! 💐

So that was my week in a nutshell. I plan on posting a weekly update and maybe some random post here and there. Y’all have a great day and thanks for reading! 😊

Citizens Run Against Cancer -5K

Do you guys know me by now? My life is never normal or routine at all. 🙄 My littlest girl got sick last week which would in turn pass down to me. I was told and asked not to go to this race, but I just couldn’t not go… I felt like death, I didn’t get my watch to start tracking until about 5 min into the race but I finished it and that’s all that matters.

There was a chance of rain and we got lucky because it all cleared up when the race started. I didn’t PR at all if anything I did worse but I felt like my heart was going to explode. It wasn’t worth me dying to go all out so when I got tired I stopped jogging and started walking. The town is a little historic town so it was beautiful to take the scenery in. I will 100 percent do the half marathon next year because you get to really go into the historic district with all the old Victorian homes.

According to my chip my official finish time was 40:35 or a 13:04 mile. I finished number 19 in my age group. I’m pretty proud of myself and I’m pretty sure this race started something! It was SO much fun even if I did feel terrible. I have to admit my embarrassing moment though… I would like to blame the DayQuil but maybe it was a newbie mistake too? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I ran up to the time list and I saw my name was 3rd in its little grouping so I was thought maybe I got 3rd in my division. I was excited thinking I was going to get a fancy finisher medal… 🤦🏼‍♀️ Nope, gotta werk a little harder. Lol I don’t make this crap up… it’s just how my life is.
